Snowflake & Snowman Gift Tags

Happy Thursday! Christmas will soon be here and I often find myself wanting to jazz up a gift bag with a fun little gift tag. I'm the type who usually thinks about adding the gift tag to a bag on Christmas Eve, so I thought I'd share with you a few quick and easy gift tags to create at home for your gift bags. My Snowflake & Snowman Gift Tags, feature a couple of dies from Becky's Christmas collection. Grab a cup of your favourite winter beverage and enjoy as I walk you through how to recreate my Snowflake & Snowman Gift Tags at home.

We'll start by making the snowflake gift tag.

Before die cutting all three of the snowflakes from the Ornate Snowflake die, you'll need a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock that all three snowflakes fit on. Cut a piece of adhesive sheet that will fit the piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. With the piece of adhesive cut, start by peeling off the back of the double sided adhesive piece and adhere it to the White Soft Finish cardstock piece. Run the piece of paper and the three snowflake dies through your die cutting machine. With the adhesive on the snowflake, peel off the top paper of the adhesive and sprinkle Microfine White Glitter on the snowflake. Tap off the excess glitter. Repeat the previous two steps for the other two snowflakes. Burnish the glitter with your finger on each snowflake.

Die cut the 5/8" Stitched Fishtail Banner out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. With the banner cut out, flip the die to the other side of the banner to create a notch on the other side. Your banner will need to be 2 1/2" long. Once the banner has been cut, apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Joy sentiment and stamp the sentiment onto the banner.

Adhere the medium snowflake to the large snowflake. Adhere the small snowflake to the medium snowflake.

Use foam squares to adhere the Joy sentiment banner to the middle of the small snowflake. To finish off the snowflake gift tag, add a piece of twine at the top of the snowflakes.

And here's the finished Snowflake Gift Tag.

Next, we'll create the Snowman Gift Tag.

From the Stylish Snowman die you'll need to cut out all of the following pieces shown below the circles. Die cut all three circles out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Die cut the arms for the snowman out of Brown Soft Finish Cardstock.

The three buttons will need to be die cut out of Red Soft Finish Cardstock.

Die cut the carrot nose out of Orange Soft Finish Cardstock.

Die cut the antler ears from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Blend Vintage Photo Distress Ink with a blending tool and foam over the entire surface of the antler ears.

Before die cutting the last two dies, take out a scrap piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Blend Black Soot Distress Ink with a blending tool and foam over the entire surface of the scrap piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the eye and mouth circles from the now black piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Now it's time to assemble your snowman.

Adhere the medium circle 1/2" overtop of the large circle. Adhere the small circle 1/4" overtop of the medium circle. Adhere the antlers to the top of the small circle.

Adhere an arm to either side of the snowman's body. Adhere the three buttons down the middle of the snowman.

For the snowman's face, adhere the two eyes, the carrot nose and the six small circles to create his mouth. To finish the top of the snowman, add a piece of twine.

And here's the finished Snowman Gift Tag.

Here are the two finished gift tags together.
