Merry Christmas Card

Happy Saturday!
I've been busy creating some last minute Christmas projects this week. So, for today's project, I created this Merry Christmas Card. To create my card, I've used a variety of stamps from Charlene as well as dies from Els van de Burgt Studio and the Planner Essentials Collection. You'll want to read below as I have a full tutorial on how to recreate my Merry Christmas Card at home.

To start, die cut a 3" Stitched Rectangle out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. On a stamp block, cover the block with Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink. Spray the ink with water and then stamp onto the rectangle piece. On a second stamp block, cover the block in areas with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink. Spray the ink with water and then stamp randomly onto the rectangle piece. Dry the rectangle piece with a heat tool. Apply Emboss It Ink to the grid stamp from the Make A Wish Stamp Set and stamp randomly on the rectangle piece. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed and stamp two more times on the rectangle piece. Sprinkle Peppered Chantilly Embossing Powder over the stamped areas. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut a 3 1/2" Stitched Rectangle out of black cardstock. Distress the edges of the rectangle piece.

From the Christmas Garden stamp set, you'll need the poinsettia, holly branch and berry branch. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the poinsettia stamp and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the holly branch stamp and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the berry branch stamp and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Reapply ink to the berry branch stamp and stamp onto the same piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using Scribble Sticks from Set 1 & 2 as well as a waterbrush, colour in the images. Once the images have dried, fussy cut all four images out. Ink the edges of the images using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Winter Words stamps set, you'll need the Merry Christmas words. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to both words and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the two words into two strips. Distress the edges of each strip. Ink the edges of each strip using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the 3" stitched rectangle to the 3 1/2" stitched rectangle.

Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the poinsettia, holly branch and the two berry branches as desired on the top right side of the 3" rectangle piece.

Adhere the Merry Christmas sentiment strips to the bottom left side of the card front as desired. To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 4 3/4" x 7", score at 7 1/2". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Elizabeth Craft Designs December Group Post - New Years Projects/Last Minute Christmas Projects

Happy Wednesday!

We are switching things up on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog this year and instead of having a designer challenge, we are having group posts each month. Each month the group post will have a theme and some or all of the design team members will participate. For December's theme it's all about New Years Projects/Last Minute Christmas Projects!

For this month's group post, I created this quick and easy Joy Gift Box perfect to add a gift to or add to a table setting with a treat inside. To create my gift box, I've used dies from Joset Designs, the Planner Essentials Collection and Els van de Burgt Studio. Grab your favourite Christmas beverage and read below as I have a tutorial for you so that you can re-create my Joy Gift Box at home. Happy Monday!
I'm playing along with the December Day By Day happening on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Planner Facebook Group. So, needless to say that you will be seeing lots of posts of the different days in my planner through out December on my blog.  For this post, I thought I would share with you how to recreate Day 7 & 8 of my planner spreads.

To start, you'll need to choose a piece of patterned paper. I used one of the patterned papers from the Christmas Paper Pack from Carta Bella. Die cut the small planner page from the Planner Essentials - 5 out of the patterned paper. Ink the edges of the page using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam.

Choose another piece of patterned paper from the same paper pack and die cut the page from the Planner Essentials - 12 die out of the patterned paper. In the edges of the page using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam.

Next, you'll need the Reindeer Mail Stamp Set. Apply Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink over the entire surface of the "It's The Most Wonderful" sentiment and stamp onto a piece of kraft cardstock. Cut the sentiment out so that it measures 2 5/8" x 3 3/8". Ink the edges of the sentiment using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam.

Choose another piece of patterned paper from the same paper pack and cut two pieces that measure 1" x 1 1/4". Ink the edges of the pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam.

From the Filmstrip Numbers die, die cut the backers and the number 7 & 8 out of black cardstock.

Choose another piece of patterned paper from the same paper pack and die cut the reinforcements hearts from the Planner Labels twice out of the patterned paper, you'll need a total of 8 reinforcements. Ink the edges of the reinforcements using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam.

From the Planner Labels, choose a label. Die cut the label out of a cream cardstock piece. Ink the edges of the label using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam.

Next, you'll need to get one doily out.

Cut a square frame out of the patterned paper that measures 4" x 4". Ink the edges of the square using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with foam.

Choose another piece of patterned paper from the same paper pack and die cut the 3 1/2" Stitched Rectangle out of the patterned paper. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam.

From the patterned paper pack, choose one of the squares that has a saying on it. Cut the saying into as many strips as you desire. Ink the edges of the strips using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam.

To start, we will assemble Day 7.

Adhere six reinforcement hearts over the circles on the pennant page.

Adhere the doily to the middle of the page. Adhere the square to the middle left hand side of the page. Die cut your photo out of the 3" Stitched Rectangle. Adhere the 3" rectangle photo to the 3 1/2" rectangle. Adhere the 3 1/2" rectangle overtop of the doily and square. The 3 1/2" rectangle will hang a bit over on the left side of the page.

Adhere the number 7 with backer together. Adhere the Day 7 to the top left side of the photo. Adhere the planner to the bottom left side of the photo. Adhere the sentiment to the right of the label.
