Spooktacular Creations - Die Cut & Colouring Team Designer Challenge

We're kicking off a new Die Cut and Colouring Team Designer Challenge on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today.  For September it's all about Halloween and Spooktacular Creations. With the challenge in mind, I set out to create a fun Halloween card perfect to give to that special someone who loves Halloween. Make sure to read below as I have a tutorial for you so that you can re-create my Boo! Card at home. Read all the way down to the bottom as I have some information at the end of the post on how to get in on a fabulous giveaway from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Die cut the Iron Fence out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Blend Hickory Smoke Distress Ink over the entire surface of the iron fence with a blending tool with foam. Once the Hickory Smoke has been applied, using a blending tool with foam sponge Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink over the fence. To finish off the iron fence, lightly brush Bronze Age Art Alchemy Metallique Wax on parts of the iron fence.

From the Halloween Scenery die, die cut the tombstone scene out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. On the top portion of the tombstones, blend Hickory Smoke Distress Ink over the entire surface. Once the Hickory Smoke has been applied, using a blending tool with foam sponge Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink over the top portion of the tombstone. Blend Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink over the bottom portion of the tombstones.

Using the tree from the Halloween Scenery die, die cut the tree out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Blend Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink over the entire surface of the tree with a blending tool and foam. After the ink has dried, lightly brush White Gold Art Alchemy Metallique Wax over the edges of the tree.

Cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 3/4" x 1 1/4". Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the boo! sentiment and stamp onto the piece of cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, sponge Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink over the entire sentiment.

Die cut both pumpkins from the Pumpkins die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. On the pumpkin portion of both Pumpkins, blend Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Ink with a blending tool and foam. On the stem portion of the pumpkins, blend Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink.

From the Halloween Scenery die, die cut three bats out of Black Soft Finish Cardstock.

From the Halloween Scenery die, die cut two spiders out of Black Soft Finish Cardstock.

Die cut the 1 1/2" fitted circle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Blend Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink over the entire circle using a blending tool with foam. Ink the edges of the circle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut the Haunted House out of Yellow Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the Haunted house again out of Black Soft Finish Cardstock.

Cut pieces of Yellow Soft Finish Cardstock to fit behind the windows of the Haunted House.

Cut the following pieces of paper:

- Orange Soft Finish Cardstock: 6" x 6"
- Black Soft Finish Cardstock: 5 7/8" x 5 7/8"

Distress the edges of each piece of paper. Ink the edges of each piece of paper using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Cut a piece of Heavy Stock cardstock that measures 6" x 12", score at 6".

Adhere the spider web patterned paper to the black cardstock piece. Adhere the black cardstock piece to the orange soft finish cardstock piece.

Off set the black haunted house overtop of the yellow haunted house and adhere the two houses together. With the haunted houses adhered together, adhere the yellow cardstock pieces in behind the windows on the haunted house.

Adhere the fence 3/4" from the left and 1/4" from the bottom of the spider web patterned paper. Foam square the tree to the left hand side of the spider web paper. The tree will sit slightly overtop of the fence. Adhere the moon in the top right hand corner of the spider web paper.

Foam square the haunted house to the right of the tree.

Adhere the two pumpkins to the right of the fence. The pumpkins will sit slightly overtop of one another. Foam square the tombstone scene to the bottom of the card.

Adhere the boo! sentiment 1/4" below the moon on the right hand side of the card front. Adhere one spider on the haunted house and adhere the other spider to one of the pumpkins.
