Joy Christmas Card

Happy Friday!
Halloween has now passed and Christmas crafting is in full swing around my house. So, for today's project, I created this Joy Christmas Card. To create my card, I've used a variety of stamps from Charlene as well as dies from Joset Designs. You'll want to read below as I have a full tutorial on how to recreate my Christmas card at home.

To start, die cut the 5 3/4" Stitched Indented Rectangle out of the Deck The Halls patterned paper. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut a 1 1/8" Diagonal Stitched Fishtail out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the fishtail down to 2 3/4". Apply Festive Berries Distress Ink to the Joy sentiment from the Oh the Joy of Christmas stamp set and stamp onto the fishtail. Ink the edges of fishtail using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Christmas Garden stamp set, you'll need the pine branch. Apply Potting Soil Archival Ink to the pine branch and stamp onto a piece of white soft finish cardstock. Reapply ink the stamp and stamp onto the same piece of cardstock. Using a waterbrush and the Umber Scribble Stick to colour in the branches. Fussy cut the two pine branches out. Ink the edges of the branches using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Christmas Garden stamp set, you'll need the poinsettia. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the poinsettia and stamp onto a piece of white soft finish cardstock. Reapply ink the stamp and stamp onto the same piece of cardstock. Using a waterbrush and the Evergreen, Ruby and Lemon Scribble Sticks to colour in the poinsettias. Fussy cut the two poinsettias out. Ink the edges of the poinsettias using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Christmas Garden stamp set, you'll need the holly branch. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the holly branch and stamp onto a piece of white soft finish cardstock. Reapply ink the stamp and stamp onto the same piece of cardstock. Using a waterbrush and the Evergreen, Umber and Ruby Scribble Sticks to colour in the holly branches. Fussy cut the two poinsettias out. Cut the bottom portion of one of the branches off giving you three pieces. Ink the edges of the holly branches using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut the 4" Stitched Indented Rectangle out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut a 3 1/2" Stitched Circle out of the middle of the rectangle. Apply Emboss It Ink to the dot stamp from the Background Stamps 1 set and stamp randomly on the left side of the circle. You'll need to stamp the background five times in total. Sprinkle Golden Rod Molten Dimensions Embossing Powder over the stamped images. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut another 4" Stitched Indented Rectangle out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the 4" rectangle with the circle cut out of it to the 4" rectangle. Foam square the 4" rectangle to the 4 1/2" rectangle.

Adhere the Joy fishtail 3/4" from the bottom of the circle and 1/8" from the right of the 4" rectangle. Adhere the holly branches and pine branches along the left hand side of the circle as desired.

Use foam squares and adhesive to adhere the poinsettias over top of the pine branches and holly branches.
To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 5 3/4" x 9", score at 4 1/2". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finished Christmas Card.
