Wild Whisper InterNational Scrapbook Day Blog Hop

 Happy InterNational Scrapbook Day!

Some of us on the Wild Whisper Design Team decided that it would be fun to do a blog hop for National Scrapbook Day! And what better way to kick off the day, then by getting our scrapbook layout inspiration from the fabulous Sara Scraps. Sara designed the sketch below which has inspired all of our layouts.

For my take on the sketch, I used the Strength of the Season Collection from Wild Whisper and scrapbooked one of our adventures from last year to create my Live Fully in the Season You're In Layout. You'll want to read below for a tutorial on how to create my layout as well, you'll want to make sure to check out the rest of the team's creations by following the list at the end of the post.

To start, you'll need the branch patterned paper out of the Strength of the Season Paper Pack. Cut the border strip off the bottom of the paper. Ink the edges of the paper using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Next, you'll need the snowflake paper out of the paper pack. Cut two pieces that measure 3 3/4" x 5 1/4". Ink the edges of both papers using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Next, you'll need the leaf paper. Cut a piece that measures 3 3/4" x 3 3/4". Ink the edges of the paper using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the leaf paper, cut two light green leaf sets and one dark green leaf set out of the paper. One of the light green leaf sets, only needs two leaves. Ink the edges of all three leaf sets using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Choose three border strips. Cut one border strip down to 11 1/2". Cut the second border strip down to 11". Cut the third border strip down to 6". Ink the edges of all three border strips using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the bee paper, fussy cut two bees out. Ink the edges of the bees using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Strength of the Season Card Pack, you'll need the card with the sunflower on it. Fussy cut the sunflower out. Ink the edges of the sunflower using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Out of the Strength of the Season Ephemera Pack. you'll need two coloured bees, two yellow bees, a sunflower and the Live Fully quote. Fussy cut the bees out. Ink the edges of the bees, sunflower and quote using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the 11 1/2" border strip 4 1/8" from the bottom and 1/2" from the right of the branch paper. Adhere the 11" border strip 3 3/4" from the bottom and 1" from the right of the branch paper. Adhere the 6" border strip 3 3/8" from the bottom and 5/8" from the left of the branch paper.

Adhere the photos to the photo mats. Foam square one of the 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" photo mat 2 7/8" from the left and 2" from the top of the branch paper. The photo mat will be on a bit of an angle. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the other 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" photo mat 1 5/8" from the right and 2 5/8" from the top of the branch paper. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the remaining 3 3/4" photo mat 3 5/8" from the right and 1 3/4" from the bottom of the branch paper.

In the bottom right corner of the photos, adhere the set of three light and dark green leaves to the sunflower as desired. Adhere the sunflower in the corner of the photos. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the quote partially on the photo and partially on the sunflower.

In the top left corner of the 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" photo mat, adhere the sunflower with bee underneath the photo mat.

In the top right corner, adhere one of the larger coloured bees under the corners of the 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" photo mats. Foam square the yellow and other small coloured bee as desired above the larger coloured bee.

In the bottom left hand corner of the photos, use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the remaining bees as desired.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finish scrapbook layout.
