How to create a cute Pocket for your Planner

Happy Wednesday! I'm excited to share with you today how to create a cute pocket for your planner that you can move week to week within the month to document important things or things to remember. To create my pocket, I've used a variety of dies and stamps from the planner collection, die from Els van de Burgt Studio and patterned paper from ModaScrap to create my pocket. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite winter beverage and read below as I have a tutorial for you on how to recreate my pocket.

From the Planner Pocket #2 die, die cut the circle wreath twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Choose a piece of patterned paper from the Relax in the Garden Paper pack. Die cut a 2 1/2" Fitted circle out of the patterned paper. Ink the edges of the circle using Acorn Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut the 2" Fitted circle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the 1 1/2" circle from the Planner Essentials #2 die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink the edges of both circles using Acorn Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Choose a piece of patterned paper from the Wood Effect Paper pack. Die cut the Noted Circle out of the patterned paper. Ink the edges of the circle using Acorn Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Planner Essentials #2 die, die cut the large tag twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. From the Family stamp set, you'll need the Remember This stamp. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Remember This stamp and stamp onto one of the tags. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the For the Record stamp and stamp onto the other tag. Ink the edges of the tags using Acorn Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Choose a piece of patterned paper from the Wood Effect Paper pack. Die cut the Pocket from the Planner Pocket #1 out of the patterned paper. Flip the patterned paper over and die cut the pocket again out of the patterned paper. Fold the edges on the fold line. Ink the edges of the pockets using Acorn Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the two pocket pieces together by putting adhesive on all of the tabs on one of the pockets.

Adhere one of the circle wreaths to the middle of the pocket. Adhere the other circle wreath slightly off center overtop of the first circle wreath.

Adhere the noted circle to the 1 3/8" white circle. Adhere the 1 3/8" white circle to the 2" white circle. Adhere the 2" white circle to the 2 1/2" patterned paper circle. Foam square the 2 1/2" patterned paper circle to the middle of the circle wreath.

To finish off the top of the two tags, tie brown seam binding ribbon to the top of each tag. Slide the tags into the top of the pocket.

Here are a few closeups of the pocket.

Here is the finished pocket.

Elizabeth Craft February Group Post - #Valetine's Day projects you can make today!

Happy Saturday!

We are switching things up on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog this year and instead of having a designer challenge, we are now having group posts each month. Each month the group post will have a theme and some or all of the design team members will participate. For February's theme it's all about #Valentine's Day Projects you can make today!

Valentine's Day is only 12 days away it's time to start thinking about creating some Valentine's Day decor. For this month's group post, I created this cute Happy Valentine's Day Wall Hanging, perfect to add to any spot in your home. To create my wall hanging, I've used dies from Els van de Burgt Studio and Joset Designs as well as patterned paper from ModaScrap. Grab your favourite beverage and read below as I have a tutorial for you so that you can re-create my wall hanging at home. You'll also want to make sure to stop by the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog to check out the rest of the team's projects.

To start, choose two pieces of patterned paper from the ModaScrap - Simply Love Paper Pack. Die cut the 4" Stitched Fishtail out of one of the patterned papers. Die cut the 3 1/2" Stitched Fishtail out of the other piece of patterned paper. Ink the edges of the banners using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut a 3" and 2" Fitted Heart out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. On the 2" heart, use a blending tool with foam to blend Candied Apple Distress Ink over the entire surface of the heart. Ink the edges of the white heart and red heart using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Words 3 - Happy Holidays die, die cut the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Choose one of the leaves from the Trio of Leaves die. Die cut the leaf twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

From the Entwined Hearts die, you'll need the small heart. Die cut the small heart out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Spun Sugar Distress Ink over the entire surface of the small hearts.

Choose one of the flowers from the Small Flowers Set. Die cut your chosen flower four times out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Spun Sugar Distress Ink over the entire surface of the flowers.

Adhere the 3 1/2" banner to the 4" banner. Adhere the 2" red heart to the 3" white heart. Foam square the white heart to the middle of the 3 1/2" banner.

Adhere the Happy Valentine's Day sentiment to the bottom right side of the heart.

Create two flowers by adhering two flowers together. Adhere the two flowers to the top left side of the heart. Adhere the two leaves underneath the two flowers. Adhere two hearts at the bottom left hand side of the banner. Adhere one heart at the top right hand side of the banner.

To finish off your banner, punch two holes at the top of the banner and run red seam binding ribbon through the holes. Tie a knot at each hole to create the hanger.

Here are a few closeups of the wall hanging.

Here's the finished Happy Valentine's Day Wall Hanging.
