Bloom Card

  Happy Wednesday!

Today's post, I'm sharing this Bloom Card.  To create my card, I've used stencils, dies and stamps from the Art Journal Collection. You'll want to read below as I have a full tutorial on how to recreate my card at home.

To start, die cut a 4" Stitched Rounded Rectangle out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Choose a piece of patterned paper out of the Worn Wood Paper Pack. Die cut a 3 3/4" Fitted Rounded Rectangle out of the paper. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut a 3 1/2" Stitched Rounded Rectangle out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Place the Bloom stencil on the left hand side of the rectangle. Using a palette knife, put Texture Paste Opaque Matte through the stencil as desired. Remove the stencil. Once the texture paste has dried, ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Flower Power die, die cut the flower and one of the flower branches out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a waterbrush and the Watercolour Palette, colour the two flowers as desired.

From the Morning Letters stamp set, you'll need the letters to spell out bloom. Apply Black Archival Ink to the letters and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fussy cut the bloom word out. Ink the edges of the word using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the 3 3/4" rectangle to the 4" rectangle. Foam square the 3 1/2" rectangle to the 3 3/4" rectangle.

Adhere the two flowers as desired to the left hand side of the card. Adhere the bloom word to the bottom stems of the flowers as desired.

To finish the card, cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 4" x 10 1/2", score at 5 1/4". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finished card.

Today's post, I'm sharing this Peaceful Tag.  To create my tag, I've used stencils, dies and stamps from the Art Journal Collection. You'll want to read below as I have a full tutorial on how to recreate my tag at home.

Die cut the tag from the Butterfly Pocket Insert from a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Place the Rock stencil on the right hand side of the tag. Using a palette knife, put Texture Paste Opaque Matte through the stencil as desired. Remove the stencil. Once the texture paste has dried, spritz Distress Spray Stain in Cracked Pistachio, Blueprint Sketch and Twisted Citron as desired on the tag. To give it a lighter look, spritz water overtop of the spray stain and dab off the extra spray stain with a paper towel. Set aside to dry.

Once the tag has dried, ink the edges of the tag using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Junk Journal Extras die, you'll need the curly edge die. Die cut the die out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Trim the right hand side of the die cut to 1 1/8" wide. Ink the edges of the edge using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Journal Edges die, you'll need the ragged edge die. Die cut the die out of a piece of book page. Trim the right hand side of the die cut to 3/4" wide and 4 3/4" long. Ink the edges of the edge using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Choose two of the flowers from the Flower Powder Die. Die cut one of the flowers from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the other flower from a piece of kraft cardstock.

Die cut the bud branch from the Budding Florals die out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a waterbrush and the Watercolour Palette, colour the bud branch. Once dry, ink the edges of the branch using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Choose one of the branches from the Blooming Branches Die. Die cut the branch out of a piece of book page.

From the Journal Words stamp, you'll need the peaceful word. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the peaceful word and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut into a word strip. On the right hand side, cut it on an angle. Ink the edges of the word strip using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Cut a piece of blue ribbon that measures 1" x 5 1/4". Cut the bottom edge on an angle.

Staple the ribbon to the right hand side of the tag as desired.

Adhere the curly edge 1" from the left and 1" from the bottom of the tag. Adhere the ragged edge 3/4" from the right of the tag.

Staple the bud branch slightly to the right of the right hand side of the ragged edge. Adhere the kraft flower to the middle of the bud branch.

Beauty, Create, Journal Tag Pocket Insert

Happy Friday!

Today's post, I'm sharing this layered Beauty, Create, Journal Tag Pocket for inside my junk journal.  To create my tag pocket, I've used stamps and dies from the Art Journal Collection. You'll want to read below as I have a full tutorial on how to recreate my tag pocket at home.

To start, choose a piece of patterned paper from the Rusty Weathered Paper Pack. From the Winter Home Pocket Die, die cut the tag pocket out of the patterned paper. Ink the edges of the tag pocket using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the same Winter Pocket Home Die, die cut one of the branches out of a piece of kraft cardstock and one of the other branches out of a coordinating patterned paper piece.

From the Journal Edges die, die cut the lacey border out of a piece of black cardstock. The border will measure 3/4" x 5 7/8".

From the Junk Journal Extras die, die cut the swirly border out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. The border is 3/4" wide.

From the Budding Florals die, die cut the cotton bulb out of a piece of kraft cardstock.

From the Flower Power Die, die cut one of the flowers out of a piece of black cardstock.

From the Florals of Winter die, die cut the long branch out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Beauty, Create and Journal words from the Journal Words and stamp all the words onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fussy cut the beauty and create word out. Cut the Journal word into a word strip. Ink the edges of all three words using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Cut a piece of Floral Collage paper that measures 2 1/2" x 3 3/4".

Cut two pieces of ribbon. The first piece is a piece of cream lace that is 5 3/4" long. Cut a second piece of grey ribbon that is 6" long.

I wanted to add a couple of metal embellishments, so I grabbed a metal arrow and a index clip.

Adhere the floral collage paper 1" from the right and 1/4" from the bottom of the chimney side of the tag pocket.

Staple the two pieces of ribbon on the left hand side of the tag pocket where we just adhered the floral paper.

Add adhesive to the flaps and adhere the flaps to the middle of the tag pocket creating the pocket.

Adhere the white border 1 3/4" from the right and 3/4" from the bottom of the pocket. Adhere the black border 2 1/4" from the right of the pocket.

Adhere the white branch 1 7/8" from the right and all the way to the top of the pocket. Use foam squares to adhere the cotton bulb 3/4" from the top and 2 1/4" from the right of the pocket. Adhere the black flower to the right of the cotton bulb.

Adhere the other two branches as desired by the cotton bulb and the flower.

Adhere the metal arrow to the left of the cotton bulb as desired. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the Beauty, Create and Journal words to the right of the borders as desired. To finish the page, add a index clip to the right hand side of the pocket.

To adhere the pocket into the junk journal, I used a piece of Art Journal Washi Tape and put it on the back side of the pocket.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finished tag pocket insert.
