Happy Tuesday! With Mother's Day this past Sunday I can now share the Mother's Day Card that I gave to mom. I know that I'm sharing my card now, but you can easily change the Happy Mother's Day sentiment out for a Happy Birthday, Thinking of You, With Sympathy, etc. With a few of my favourite dies from ModaScrap, Joset Designs and Susans Garden Notes in hand, I set off and created this pretty Happy Mother's Day. You'll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my Happy Mother's Day card at home.
To start, die cut a 5 1/4" Dashing Square out of a piece of patterned paper. Ink the edges of the square using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Die cut a 4 3/4" Dashing Square out of another piece of patterned paper. Ink the edges of the square using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Cut a third piece of patterned paper to 4" x 4".
Die cut a 4 1/4" Dashing Square out of a fourth piece of patterned paper. Place the 3 1/2" Frame It/Stitched Circle in the middle of the patterned paper piece. Run the piece of paper with the die on it through your die cutting machine. Ink the edges of the square using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Die cut the scallop edge from the Valentines Edges out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the edge down to 3".
Cut out a patterned paper border from the paper and cut the border down to 3". Ink the edges of the border using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Words 3 - Happy Holidays die, die cut the Happy Mother's Day sentiment out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.
From the Large Flower Set, choose one of the flowers. Die cut the chosen flower six times out of pink paper. Die cut the centers once out of a matching pink patterned paper piece. Adhere two of the pink flowers together and add a center to each. Repeat the previous step two more times for the remaining pink flowers.
Choose a leaf from the Trio of Leaves die. Die cut the leaf eight times out of a green paper.
From the Small Flower Set die, choose one of the small flowers. Die cu the chosen small flower six times out of a purple patterned paper piece. Die cut the center die out of coordinating purple purple. You will only need three of the centers. Adhere two of the purple flowers together and add a center to each. Repeat the previous step two more times for the remaining purple flowers.
Adhere the 4 3/4" Dashing Square to the 5 1/4" Dashing Square.
Adhere the 4" patterned paper piece in behind the 4 1/4" Dashing Square. Foam square the 4 1/4" square to the middle of the 4 3/4" Dashing Square.
Adhere the border strip to the scallop edge piece. Adhere the border strip/scallop edge piece to the bottom middle of the circle.
Adhere a large pink flower and two small purple flowers in the bottom right hand side of the circle. Cut down two leaves as desired and adhere them underneath the pink flower.
Adhere the remaining two large pink flower and one small purple flowers in the top left hand side of the circle. Cut down the remaining leaves as desired and adhere them underneath both pink flowers and the purple flower.
Adhere the Happy Mother's Day sentiment in the circle portion of the card. To finish off the card, cut a cardbase that measures 5 1/2" x 11", score at 5 1/2".
Here are a few closeups photos of the finished card.
