Flourish Wall Hanging

Happy Saturday!

For today's project I'm sharing with you my Flourish Wall Hanging which features some dies and stamps from Charlene & Ilse's new Art Journal Specials Collection from Elizabeth Craft Designs. You'll want to read below as I have a full tutorial on how to recreate my Flourish Wall Hanging at home.

To start, die cut a 4" Stitched Fishtail out of black cardstock and a piece of book page. Distress the edges of both fishtails. Ink the edges of the book page fishtail using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut a 3 1/2" Stitched Fishtail out of black cardstock. Distress the edges of the fishtail.

Die cut a 3" Stitched Fishtail out of kraft cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to one of the background stamps from the Words & Layers stamp set and stamp on the left hand side of the fishtail. Sprinkle Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder over the stamped image. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Apply Emboss It Ink to one of the leaf stamps from the Spring Fling stamp and stamp randomly on the right hand side of the fishtail as desired. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Once the ink has dried, distress the edges of the fishtail. Ink the edges of the fishtail using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut the Bubbles out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the bubbles down to 2 3/4" wide. Apply Emboss It Ink to the bubbles and sprinkle Hammered Metal Embossing Powder over the entire surface of the bubbles. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

From the Blooming Branches die, die cut the heart branch out of black cardstock. Die cut the other branch once out of kraft cardstock and a second time out of book page.

Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the leaf stamp from the First Sights of Spring stamp set and stamp onto a piece of watercolour paper. Reapply ink to the stamp and stamp again on the same piece of paper. Colour the leaves in using the Watercolor Palette and a waterbrush. Once the leaves have dried, fussy cut them out. Ink the edges of the leaves using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Spell out the word Flourish using the Morning Letters stamp set and Jet Black Archival Ink. Stamp the word onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fussy cut the word out. Ink the edges of the word using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Garden Flowers stamp set, choose one of the flowers. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the flower stamp and stamp onto a piece of watercolour paper. Colour the flower in using the Watercolor Palette and a waterbrush. Once the flower has dried, fussy cut the flower out. Ink the edges of the flower using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Cut a piece of burlap that measures 3/4" wide. Cut the bottom of the burlap on an angle at 3 3/4".

Adhere the 4" book page fishtail to the 4" black cardstock fishtail. Adhere the 3" fishtail to the 3 1/2" fishtail. Foam square the 3 1/2" fishtail to the 4" bookpage fishtail.

Adhere the burlap strip 1/8" from the left of the 3" fishtail. Adhere the bubbles die cut along the left edge of the 3 1/2" fishtail.

Adhere the branches and heart branch as desired on the left hand side of the bubbles and burlap as desired.

Place the flower at the bottom of the branches. Adhere the two leaves as desired underneath the flower. Foam square the flower over top of the leaves and branches. Adhere the Flourish to the right side of the flower as desired.

Punch two holes at the top of the fishtail. Tie a piece of twine through the two holes creating a hanger.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finished wall hanging.
