Hip, Hop Hello Card

Happy Wednesday!

I've been busy creating with the brand new Joset Designs collection of adorable Fairytale themed dies and stamps that is releasing August 4th. For today's project, I created this summery Hip, Hop Hello Card. To create my card, I've used a variety of dies from Joset Designs and Els van de Burgt Studio. You'll want to read below as I have a full tutorial on how to recreate my card at home.

To start, die cut a 4 1/2" Stitched Rectangle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Spritz water over the entire surface of the rectangle. Spritz Distress Spray Stain in Carved Pumpkin and Twisted Citron as well as Dylusions Ink Spray in Pink Flamingo over the entire rectangle as desired. Use a paper towel to blot off the excess ink. Set aside to allow it time to dry.

Die cut both pieces from the Floral Burst Background out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Die cut a 2 1/4" Stitched Circle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to the Hip, Hop Hello sentiment from the Prince & Frogs Sentiment Stamp Set and stamp in the middle of the stitched circle.

From the Trio of Leaves dies, choose one of the leaves. Die cut the chosen leaf three times out of Spring Green Soft Finish Cardstock.

From the Once Upon a Time Accessories, you'll need the sun and flower with center die. Die cut the sun and flower with center die three times out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Picked Raspberry Distress Ink over the entire surface of all three suns. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Carved Pumpkin Distress Ink over the entire surface of two of the flowers. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Twisted Citron Distress Ink over the entire surface of the remaining flowers. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink over the entire surface of all three flower centers.

Adhere the Floral Burst Background with frame to the inside of the 4 1/2" stitched rectangle. Make sure that the stitching is showing all around the rectangle.

Foam square the 2 1/4" stitched circle 1/2" from the right and 5/8" from the bottom of the 4 1/2" stitched rectangle.

Adhere the three flowers together.

Cut one of leaves down to only having three leaves and adhere to one of the orange/pink flowers. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the orange/pink flower to the bottom right corner of the stitched circle. Cut the other two leaf bunches down to four leaves each and adhere to the top left side of the stitched circle as desired. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the remaining two flowers to the top left corner of stitched circle, making sure that where the leaf bunches meet are covered.

To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 5 3/4" x 9", score at 4 1/2". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finished card.

Here is the finished Hip, Hop Hello Card.

Hello Notecard

Happy Wednesday!

Today's piece is a fun little Hello Notecard perfect to send to a friend with a little note. To create the notecard, I've used a variety of stamps, dies and stencils from the Art Journal Specials Collection as well as Els van de Burgt Studio and Joset Designs.  You'll want to read below as I have a full tutorial on how to recreate my notecard at home.

To start, you'll need a piece of wood patterned paper. Die cut a 4 3/4" Stitched Square out of the patterned paper. Ink the edges of the square using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut a 4 1/4" Stitched Square out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Place the Spring Flower Mandala Stencil on the left hand side of the square. Using a palette knife, put Texture Paste Transparent Matte through the stencil. Remove the stencil and allow the paste time to dry. Once the paste has dried, spritz the square with Dylusions Ink Spray in Cherry Pie, Pure Sunshine and Tangerine Dream. Dry the square. Ink the edges of the square using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut the Bubbles die out of kraft cardstock.

Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to one of the girls from the Earthy Girls stamp set and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Colour the girl in using the Watercolor Palette set from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Once the girl has dried, fussy cut her out. Ink the edges of the girl using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut a 3/4" Diagonal Stitched Fishtail out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the fishtail down to 2 1/2". Apply Jet Black Archival to the letters that spell Hello from the Morning Letters stamp set and stamp onto the right hand side of the fishtail. Ink the edges of the fishtail using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the 4 1/4" Stitched Square to the 4 3/4" Stitched Square.

Adhere the bubbles die to the left hand side of the 4 1/4" stitched square. Adhere the hello fishtail 3/8" from the bottom and all the way to the right hand side of the 4 1/4" stitched square. Foam square the girl to the left hand side of the fishtail as desired.

To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 4 3/4" x 9 1/2", score at 4 3/4". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finished notecard.

Today Sidekick Planner Page

Happy Saturday!

For today's post, I've created this pretty Today Sidekick Planner Page which features the Sidekick Collection. To create my page, I've combined a variety of dies from the Planner Essentials Collection and Sidekick Essentials Collection and stamps from Charlene van der Vorst. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my Sidekick Planner Page at home.

To start, die cut the page from the Sidekick Essentials 6 die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Randomly sprinkle Magenta Nuance in Ocean, Turquoise and Hot Pink on the page as desired. Spritz the powder with water. Allow time for the page to dry.

Once the page has dried, apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the grid background stamp from the Make a Wish stamp set and stamp randomly on the page seven times as desired. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Ink the edges of the page using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Choose one of the reinforcements from the Reinforcement Variety Pack. Die cut the reinforcements out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. You'll need a total of six reinforcements.

From the Planner Labels die, die cut the scalloped label out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink the edges of the label using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut the Today word from the Sidekick Essentials 1 die out of black cardstock. Cut the word down to 3/4" x 2 3/8".

Die cut the arrow from the Sidekick Essentials 3 die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Die cut the filmstrip die from the Planner Essentials 24 - Photo Frame Pages out of black cardstock.

From the Planner Essentials 22 - Planner Pocket 3 - Top Loading die, die cut the arrow out of Spring Green Soft Finish Cardstock.

From the Sidekick Essentials 4 die, die cut the large and medium circles out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Ocean and Turquoise Magenta Nuance on the medium circle. Spritz the powder with water. Once the circle has dried, ink the edges of both circles using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Choose two flowers from the A Field of Flowers Stamp Set. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to both of them and stamp them onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Colour the flowers in using the Watercolors. Fussy cut the flowers out. Ink the edges of the flowers using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the reinforcements over top of the circles on the page. Staple the filmstrip 5/8" from the left and 1/2" from the bottom of the page.

Staple the lime green arrow 1/4" from the right of the large circle. Foam square the large circle 1 1/2" from the bottom and all the way to the left hand side of the page. The circle will hang over the edge a bit. Adhere the medium circle to the middle of the large circle.

Use foam squares and adhesive to adhere the two flowers to the middle of the circles.

Staple the Today word to the scalloped label. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the Today label 1 5/8" from the bottom and 1/2" from the left of the page. Staple the arrow underneath the Today label.

Here are a few closeup photos of the page.
