Elizabeth Craft Designs October Group Post - Halloween Projects

 Happy Monday!

For October's Group Post it's all about Halloween Projects. For this month's group post, I'm sharing this cute Happy Halloween Treat Box which is the perfect for adding candy to and handing out this Halloween. To create my treat box, I've used dies from the Paper Flowers Collection as well as stamps and dies from Joset Designs. Grab a cup of your favourite beverage and read below as I have a tutorial for you so that you can re-create my Happy Halloween Treat Box at home. You'll also want to make sure to stop by the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog to check out the rest of the projects.

To start, you'll need some three pieces of Halloween themed patterned paper.

The next three steps use the Pizza Box Die. Die cut the pizza box out of one of the patterned papers. Ink the edges of the box using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

You'll need the other two patterned papers. Die cut the scalloped square out of on of the patterned papers. Die cut the stitched square out of the other patterned paper. Ink the edges of the squares using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Flip one of the patterned papers over and die cut the scallop circle out of it. Use the same patterned paper you die cut the stitched square out of and die cut the 2 3/4" circle out of the patterned paper. Ink the edges of the two circles using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Pumpkin Die, you'll need the leaves, pumpkin, swirly bits and one of the pumpkin faces. Die cut the two pumpkin pieces out of Bright Orange Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut each swirly bit twice out of Rust Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut each of the leaves twice out of Olive Twist Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the pumpkin face out of black cardstock. Ink the edges of the pumpkin and leaves using Black Soft Finish Cardstock and a blending tool with foam.

From the Spider Web die, die cut the spider web and one of the spiders twice out of black cardstock. Trim the spider web down so that it fits on top of the box.

Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Happy Halloween stamp from the Spooky Sentiments stamp set and stamp onto the patterned paper you used for the circle and stitched rectangle. Fussy cut the sentiment out. Ink the edges of the sentiment using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Assemble your box.

Adhere the stitched square to the scalloped square. Foam square the scalloped square to the top of the pizza box.

Adhere the spider web to the middle of the stitched square. Adhere the circle to the scallop circle. Foam square the scallop circle to the middle of the spider web.

Add one spider to the top right of circle as desired. Adhere the pumpkin face to the pumpkin. Foam square the bottom of the pumpkin to the bottom left side of the circles. Adhere the top of the pumpkin as desired above the pumpkin. Adhere the other spider to the left hand side of the pumpkin.

Adhere two leaves and one swirly bit to the right side of the pumpkin, making sure they look like they are coming out of the pumpkin. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the remaining leaves and swirly bits to the bottom left side of the pumpkin as desired.

To finish the pizza box, use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the Happy Halloween sentiment to the bottom right corner of the pizza box.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finished treat box.
