Artsy Tag

  Happy Tuesday!

For today's post, I've created this fun Artsy Tag to add into my junk journal. To create the tag, I've used a variety of dies, stamps and stencils from the Art Journal Specials Collection as well as dies from Joset Designs. You'll want to read below as I have a full tutorial on how to recreate my tag at home.

From the Butterfly Pocket Insert Die, die cut the tag out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Place the Artsy Pants stencil overtop of the tag. Using a palette knife, put Texture Paste Opaque Matte through the stencil.

Once the texture paste has dried, sprinkle Magenta Nuance in Hot Pink and Rosebud on the tag. Spritz the powder with water. Once the tag has dried, ink the edges of the tag using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Cut a doily in half.

Die cut a 2 1/2" Stitched Indented Rectangle out of a piece of book page. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut the Mandala out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the mandala in half. I removed parts of the mandala.

From the Decorative Insert die, you'll need the slotted hearts. Die cut the heart twice out of a piece of patterned paper. Ink the edges of both hearts using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Flower Power die, die cut the two leaves out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Colour the two leaves using a waterbrush and the Watercolor Palette.

From the Floral Insert Die, die cut one of the flowers out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Colour the flower using a waterbrush and the Watercolor Palette.

Apply Jet Black Archival to one of the girls from the Hip Chicks stamp set and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Colour the girl in using a waterbrush and the Watercolor Palette. Once the image has dried, fussy cut her out. Ink the edges of the girl using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Apply Jet Black Archival to the letters to spell out Artsy from the Block Alphabet stamp set and stamp them onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Colour the letters in using a waterbrush and the Watercolor Palette. Once the image has dried, fussy cut the letters out. Ink the edges of the letters using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the doily to the left hand side of the tag. Foam square the 2 1/2" rectangle to the left hand side of the tag. Adhere the mandala to the left and over top of the rectangle.

Adhere the hearts, two leaves and flower as desired in amongst the mandala and overtop of the mandala.

Foam square the girl overtop of where the bottom of the leaves meet. Adhere the Artsy word to the right hand side of the tag as desired.

To finish the tag, tie a piece of twine through the top of the tag.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finished tag.
