Winter Tag - Sneak Peek

 Happy Sunday!

For today's post, I've created this Winter Tag . I'm sharing a sneak peek of some of the new dies, stencils, and patterned papers from the Art Journal Specials Collection. You'll want to read below as I have a full tutorial on how to recreate my tag at home. 

To start, choose a piece of patterned paper out of the Mystical Winter Paper Pack. Die cut the tag from the Winter Home Pocket out of the patterned paper. Next, you'll need the dot stencil out of the Pattern Stencil Pack. Place the stencil on the left hand side of the tag. Using a palette knife, put texture paste opaque matte through the stencil. Remove the stencil. Once the texture paste has dried, ink the edges of the tag using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Choose another piece of patterned paper from the Mystical Winter Paper Pack. Die cut the large flower from the Florals of Winter die out of the patterned paper. Die cut the small flower from the same die set out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

From the same Florals of Winter Die, die cut the branch out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a waterbrush, colour the branch using the Watercolor Palette.

Pick a third piece of patterned paper from the Mystical Winter Paper Pack. From the Winter Edges die, die cut the winter word out of the patterned paper. Trim the ends to fit the tag as desired. Ink the edges of the strip using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Winter Home Pocket die, die cut the three houses out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a waterbrush and the Watercolour Palette, colour in the houses. Once the houses have dried, ink the edges of the houses using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the two flowers and the branch as desired on the left hand side of the tag.

Staple the winter strip to the bottom right hand side of the tag.

Use foam squares and adhesive to adhere the houses to the bottom left hand side of the tag as desired.

To finish the tag, tie a piece of white twine through the hole at the top of the tag.

Merry Christmas Card

  Happy Saturday! 

For today's post, I've created this quick and easy Merry Christmas Card which features dies from the Planner Essentials Collection and Joset Designs. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my card at home. 

To start, you'll need to choose three pieces of Christmas Patterned Paper. From the first patterned paper, die cut a 4" Stitched Rounded Rectangle. From the second patterned paper, die cut a 3 1/2" Stitched Rounded Rectangle. Ink the edges of both rectangles using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the third patterned paper, die cut a 3 3/4" Fitted Rounded Rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut the ornament image from the Planner Essentials 35 - Holiday Tab Pages out of a piece of Copper Foil.

From the Planner Essentials Winter Words stamp set, you'll need to the Merry Christmas words. Apply Emboss It Ink to the words and stamp onto a piece of cream cardstock. Sprinkle Forever Platinum Modern Gilding Powder over the stamped words. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Once the words have cooled, cut the two words into two word strips. Ink the edges of both strips using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the 3 1/2" rectangle to the 3 3/4" rectangle. Foam square the 3 3/4" rectangle to the 4" rectangle.

Use foam squares to adhere the ornament die cut to the 3 1/2" rectangle.

Adhere the Merry Christmas words to the bottom middle of the 3 1/2" rectangle.

To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 4" x 10 1/2", score at 5 1/4". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Remember to Make Memories

For my project for the blog hop, I've created this Remember to Make Memories Wall Hanging which features stencils from Stencil Girl as well as Glacé Paints, Patterned Paper by Ann Barnes and stamps by Nicole Wright Designs from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies. You'll want to read below as I share with you a full tutorial on how to recreate my wall hanging at home. 

To start, you'll need to die cut a 3 3/4" Fitted Indented Rectangle out of a piece of Watercolour Cardstock. Place the Assorted Tris stencil over top of the rectangle. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Ruby, paint some of the triangles in the bottom left corner of the rectangle. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Sapphire, paint some of the triangles in the bottom right corner of the rectangle. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Amethyst, paint some of the triangles in the top right corner of the rectangle. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Topaz, paint some of the triangles in the top left corner of the rectangle. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Onyx, paint the edges of the rectangle.

 Die cut a 3 1/2" Stitched Indented Rectangle out of a piece of Watercolour Cardstock. Place the Circles Mini Printmaking Stencil #1 over top of the rectangle as desired. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Ruby, paint some of the hearts in the bottom left corner of the rectangle. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Sapphire, paint some of the zig zags in the bottom right corner of the rectangle. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Amethyst, paint some of the flowers on the top right side of the rectangle. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Topaz and Sapphire, paint some of the strips in the top left corner of the rectangle. Use a heat tool to set the paints. Move the stencil around so that you have one of the circles in the middle of the rectangle. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Diamond and Emerald, paint the image from the circle in. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Onyx, paint the edges of the rectangle.

On a piece of watercolour cardstock, place one of the circles from the Circles Mini Printmaking Stencil Set #1 on it. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Diamond and Emerald, paint the image in. Heat set the paint. Die cut a 2 3/4" Stitched Circle out of the painted image. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Onyx, paint the edges of the circle.

From the Harmony - All Dotted Up Paper Pack, you'll need the yellow dot paper. Die cut a 3" Fitted Circle out of the paper. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Onyx, paint the edges of the circle.

Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Remember to make Memories stamp from the Fallen Blossom stamp and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Cut the saying into two strips. Using a waterbrush and Glacé Paint in Onyx, paint the edges of both strips.

Foam square the 3 1/2" rectangle to the 3 3/4" rectangle.

Adhere the 2 3/4" circle to the 3" circle. 

Foam square the 3" circle 7/8" from the bottom and 3/8" from the left of the 3 1/2" rectangle.

Adhere the Remember to Make Memories strips as desired on the circles.

Punch two holes at the top of the 3 3/4" rectangle. Tie a piece of white twine through the two holes to create the hanging portion for the wall hanging.
